Postnatal Support

Children change you. You won’t be the same person you were before. You might wonder if you can cope with this change and how you will navigate through a new way of life. You might question if you can become this new person. In her role as a doula, Chaya will help you find your way. She will be alongside you, guiding you when required. Above all she will be there to listen to your worries or concerns and to help you become the best mother you can be. The mother you want to be.

After giving birth, so much of the focus is, quite naturally, on the newborn baby, but Chaya remembers that in all the excitement the mother still needs care and support and her feelings still need to be considered. She will make sure you are not forgotten and that you continue to receive the reassurance that you need as a new mum. This can include help such as light housework and cooking and directing you towards other support that might be required. She will also accompany you to any appointments if needed. Chaya is a Mother’s Help on your terms, when you feel you need it, for as long as you need it.

Postnatal support costs £20 an hour plus travelling expenses in the Bath area.

Postnatal Doula Package only offered on a minimum of 4 hours per week, 2 hours per visit.

Share the cost: Host a weekly gathering at your home (perhaps with other mums you made friends with on your NCT course) Chaya can come along and offer group support as a Postnatal Doula in those early months. Practical support, help making lunch and answering any questions you may have about feeding, sleeping or general mothering. (NB. If 6 of you are meeting, this works out at around £3 per hour, per person)

Some things expectant parents have said about Chaya’s Postnatal and Breastfeeding Support:

‘Thank you so much! Was really helpful to talk to you. I really appreciate it xx’ Mother of 3 week old baby (May 2020 – video call during Covid 19 pandemic)

Just being listened to without judgement helped me feel more centered and in control. It was a relief to be honest about how difficult it was, knowing that I would be supported until I felt ready to fly solo’
